Susan Khoury

Books in this year's Susan Khoury memorial

The Dickinson County Library is pleased to announce a memorial collection honoring the life of Susan Khoury that will be on display at the Main Branch throughout the month of October, celebrating her birthday month.

Items in this memorial were donated from Susan’s private collection. They include adult and juvenile fiction and non-fiction books, as well as music CDs. Of special note are many Middle Eastern cookbooks, as Susan was a proud Arab American, founding member of the Arab American Museum in Detroit, and frequent traveler to the Middle East.

Susan was a devoted advocate for libraries and served on the Dickinson County Library Board from 1996 to 2020. She served with distinction as the board’s vice chair from 2000 to 2020. During her tenure, she also served on various committees including policy, personnel, and building, and was on the Superiorland Library Cooperative Board.
