Our Books by Mail program is available free of charge to patrons who are unable to access the library.

Program applicants must be a Dickinson County resident, have a library card in good standing, live outside a 15-mile radius of the Main Branch in Iron Mountain and are unable to travel to any of the branches, and fall into at least one of the following categories: have a short- or long-term illness or disability, is a non-driving senior citizen, have a physical challenge, or have a visual disability.

Applicants who are accepted will discuss their reading interests with a library staff member, who will hand-pick materials and send them via the U.S. Postal Service in a special mailing bag.

Items should be returned by the due date indicated. Simply place the items back in the special mailing bag, reverse the postage-paid mailing labels in the window pocket, and return through the U.S. Postal Service.

To apply for the Books by Mail program, please call the Main Branch at 906-774-1218 and ask for Julia.
