Dickinson County Library

Agnes Jayne

The 2023 selections for the Agnes Jayne Memorial Fund will be on display starting Wednesday, May 10 through Wednesday, May 24 at the Dickinson County Library’s Main Branch.

The fund, now in its 30th year, was established in 1993, following Agnes Jayne’s passing. She was born January 11, 1912 in Iron Mountain, and was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain and an Iron Mountain High School graduate. She married Kenneth W. Jayne on January 28, 1931 and they raised four children. Both Mr. and Mrs. Jayne were prominent members of our community; he worked in business, she in sales. She was a long-time sales associate at the iconic Colenso's clothing store and Frankini's jewelry store. Agnes was a devoted library supporter who visited weekly, an avid reader, and a dedicated volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and being with her many friends.

The memorial fund provides readers with a variety of romance fiction and large print titles. Annual contributions have been made to the endowment by her daughter, Mary (Jayne) Erickson Parrott in honor of her children, Terri (Erickson) Court, Gary and Gregg Erickson, and her 5 grandsons, Benjamin and Joshua Court and Colin, Connor, and Caleb Erickson.

This year’s selection of popular fiction, listed below, includes two books by Cari Lynn Webb, an author with local ties! Her parents are Jim and Donna (Porta) Webb, both graduates of Iron Mountain High School. Click the links below to place a hold on each title through our online card catalog.
