Summer Space Cinema
Sunday, August 25, 1:30 PM @ Main Branch

Keep cool during the hot days of summer by watching movies at your library! Each week, we’ll feature a different space-themed film. All movies will be rated G, PG, or PG-13, so the whole family can enjoy them together! Also, the last screening of each month will offer a sensory-friendly atmosphere. September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!

A library card puts a world of knowledge at your fingertips; sign up for one today! Any new patrons who sign up for a library card during September will be entered in a prize drawing. Existing patrons can also enter the drawing by either adding an e-mail address to their account or confirming the e-mail address currently on file.
 

Labor Day Closures and Winter Hours at the North Dickinson Branch

All branches of the Dickinson County Library will be closed Sunday, September 1 and Monday, September 2 for the Labor Day holiday. Regular, year-round hours resume Tuesday, September 3 at the Main and Solomonson Branches. Winter hours begin Tuesday, September 3 at the North Dickinson Branch; they are Mondays and Fridays from 11 AM to 4 PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 6 PM.

Take a walk on the wild side with our animal-themed storytimes for kids age 0 to 5! Each week will feature a different creature, such as cats, crocodiles, pigs, or elephants. So join us for stories, songs, activities, and crafts to expand your child’s imagination!

4th Annual Dickinson County Library Block Party
Saturday, September 7, 10:30 AM-12 PM @ Main Branch

Celebrate the library with an outdoor extravaganza featuring entertainment by folk musician Corinne Rockow, refreshments, information about library resources, and a prize drawing to win a Kindle Fire! In case of inclement weather, the program will be held inside the library.
All ages are welcome! This is sponsored in part by a Superiorland Library Cooperative Programming Mini Grant.
 

Bow Wows and Books

Learning to read doesn’t have to be intimidating when you have a furry friend listening at your side! Kids of all ages are invited to read aloud to therapy dogs Thor, and English Mastiff, and Clara, a Yorkshire Terrier in this popular monthly program.

How to Train Your Ozobot
