Computers: At the Main Branch, a public computer lab is available for adult (age 18+) use and there are separate computer areas for young adults (ages 13-17) and children (up to age 12). The Solomonson and North Dickinson branches also have computers for public use. All users must agree to abide by the Dickinson County Library Computer Use and Internet Access Policy; a print copy of this policy is available upon request. Prior to accessing the Internet on library devices, users under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign an authorization form.  

All computers are connected to the Internet and to a printer at the circulation desk. 

WiFi: WiFi is available within and outside all three branches in the parking areas near the buildings. To access, choose the "DCL Wireless" option--no password is necessary.  

Hotspot Tablets: We are excited to offer Smarter XL Hotspot tablets for adult patron checkout. These devices can function either as an Internet-connected tablet or as a hotspot that can provide Internet access for up to eight separate devices. Each comes loaded with helpful apps of the library’s digital resources, such as Libby for eBooks and audiobooks and so much more.    

Please note, signal strength may vary by location and, the library does not guarantee connectivity in all areas. Please report connectivity issues to library staff when returning the device.  

Patrons who are Dickinson County Library cardholders in good standing and at least 18 years old may check out a hotspot for 14 days. The device may be renewed once for an additional 14 days as long as it is not on hold for another patron. Only one hotspot may be checked out to a household/family at a time.    

When checking out a hotspot, patrons will be required to provide their library card or a form of photo identification. They also must sign the Hotspot Lending Agreement and the library’s Internet Access Policy Summary.   

Hotspots must be returned on time and in-person; they cannot be returned via the outside book drop.

Fees will be charged for damaged equipment.
