The Dickinson County Library helps the community find its story. The Library Board, administration and staff are commited to keeping our community safe as we turn the page from staying home to reopening! Please view our COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan for more information on the steps we are taking.
The Library has outlined a safe and sustainable plan for reopening. For more information on the process, view our Phased Reopening Plan!
Phase 1 began June 8th and Phase 2 begins June 15th! More information on the services available in Phase 2 can be found below:
We are thrilled to announce we will be resuming curbside services at all three branches on Monday, June 15
! You may make an appointment starting June 15 by calling the branch where you would like to pick up your materials. Call the Main Branch at 906-774-1218, the Solomonson Branch at 906-563-8617, or the North Dickinson Branch at 906-542-7230.
Available appointment times will be as follows: Main Branch-Monday through Friday from 10 AM-1 PM and from 3 PM-6 PM; Solomonson Branch-Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 AM-1 PM and from 3 PM-6 PM; North Dickinson Branch-Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 11 AM-2 PM.
You may order library materials such as books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs either by placing a hold through our online card catalog or by calling staff at the branch where you wish to pick up the materials. At this time, we are only able to access materials within our three library branches. We hope to be able to access materials from other libraries soon, and will make a separate announcement when that service is available. If you placed holds before we were mandated to close, please check your online account or call the library to cancel anything you no longer need.
Staff will also be able to assist patrons curbside with making copies (10 cents per page), printing items sent through e-mail or dropped off on a flashdrive (10 cents per page), faxing at the Main Branch only ($1 per page), microfilm research for county residents (research free up to 15 minutes, with any prints costing 25 cents per page), and reference assistance by phone or e-mail with prints available for pickup (10 cents per page, up to 10 pages free for COVID-19 information).
Items will be placed on a table outside the Main and Solomonson branches prior to the appointment time. At the North Dickinson Branch, items can be picked up from the window of the library. (The Library window is the second window to the right of the main office doors; there will be a table placed under the window!)
You may return library materials during these times and we will be quarantining all returns for 72 hours before checking them in. Remember, we never charge late fees for overdue materials and all due dates have been extended to June 22nd.
Phase 3, which includes appointments to use the computers in the library, is expected to being June 29th.
We thank you for your patience as we modify our processes to ensure the continued health and safety of our community, complete all necessary training for our staff, and implement all required safety measures! We hope the stories being created during this pandemic continue to make our community stronger!
